Two Upcoming Grand Wine Tastings at Colonial Spirits of Acton

Illahe Pinot Noir

At Colonial Spirits of Acton, we love educating our customers about beer, liquor & wine. Our educational outreach comes in many forms, from the posts on our blog, to our email newsletters, to our printed magazines. But, if pressed to cite our favorite method of educating our customers, the answer is easy: Tastings!

Sure, one can garner a great deal of information about a particular small-batch spirit, a new craft brew, or a classic white wine from reading an expert opinion on a given libation. Reading expert reviews can help to cultivate your palate by giving you new ideas about the cornucopia of taste sensations out there to experience, and help to improve your personal collection by pointing you in the direction of drinks that you are likely to enjoy.

The thing is, no matter how many reviews on a given beverage you may read, there is simply no substitute for sampling it yourself, which is why we hold regular beer, liquor, and wine tastings at our store in Acton, MA every month. So, we’d like to invite you to view our Events Calendar to see all of our scheduled upcoming tastings today, and remind you to check back regularly, as we are adding more events all the time.

At this time, we’d like to draw your attention to two upcoming “grand tastings” in particular… COMING SOON TO COLONIAL SPIRITS OF ACTON: FALL HARVEST GRAND WINE TASTING & BIG RED WINTER GRAND WINE TASTING!

Fall Harvest Grand Wine Tasting

The Fall Harvest Grand Wine Tasting will feature full-bodied white and medium-bodied red wines… perfect wines for autumn!

This grand tasting will be split into two events. Part 1 will take place on Saturday, October 10th from 2pm to 5pm, and Part 2 will take place a week later on Saturday, October 17th from 2pm to 5pm.

Over the course of each event, we will showcase about 50 bottles of full-bodied white and medium-bodied red wine… that’s about 100 bottles of delicious fall wine in total!

Among the wines showcased at this event is sure to be the Illahe Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, a fuller style pinot noir from a small family producer that’s known for crafting elegant pinots that are not only enjoyable immediately but also benefit from 5+ years of cellaring.

Big Red Winter Grand Wine Tasting

Clos du Mont-Olivet

The Big Red Winter Grand Wine Tasting will feature medium to heavy-bodied red wines… perfect wines for winter!

This grand tasting will also be split into two events. Part 1 will take place on Saturday, December 5th from 2pm to 5pm, and Part 2 will take place a week later on Saturday, December 12th from 2pm to 5pm.

Once again, we will showcase about 50 bottles of medium to heavy-bodied red wine over the course of each event… for about 100 bottles of wonderful winter wine in total!

Among the wines not-to-be-missed at this event is the Clos du Mont-Olivet Chateauneuf-du-Pape, a wine that can be aged 15+ years (but doesn’t need to be), from a modernized traditional winery who takes advantage of modern winemaking techniques without turning the wine into something that it shouldn’t be.
