DESCRIPTION:Glad to say that we were able to reschedule the tasting that was supposed to be on the 17th to Halloween\, 10/31 from 1-3pm.  While the Von Trapp Family isn’t the spookiest of families\, they will be here to try to scare up some support for their fine Vermont brewery.  Pouring their Vienna\, Helles\, Pilsner\, and Dunkel lagers\, Von Trapp will be offering the kindness of Vermont on a day more associated with scaring people than bringing them together.  Halloween\, 10/31 from 1-3pm.

SUMMARY:Lindeman's
DESCRIPTION:Wild yeast strains are all the rage these days in the beer world\, but Belgium’s Lindeman’s has been using it to create their famous line of Lambics for over 150 years.  Tart and sour by nature\, the Lindeman’s Lambics have been brewed with generous amounts of fruit to create a truly amazing flavor.  While they have a gueuze\, which is a mix of 1\, 2\, and 3 year old lambics\, it is their core line of fruit lambics that people know and love.  We will be trying their Frambroise\, Pomme\, Kriek\, Faro\, Peche\, and Cassis as well as their Lambic and Gueuze.  A great tasting\, certainly not one to miss if you have not had the chance to try them before.

DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again where the leaves start to change\, the crispness is in the air\, and fall beers are coming into season.  It is also this time of year that we do our Grand Oktoberfest tasting.  For those who do not know about it\, we will open every Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers we have in stock.  And I mean everything.  We will be opening over 50 beers from foreign and domestic breweries.  Not only will there be copious amounts of beer\, we will also be grilling up bratwurst for everyone.  And to top it all off\, we will be raffling some great stuff too.  With a fire pit\, a grill\, and a record player to name just a few\, your only chance to enter will be during the tasting.  So with all this in mind\, we hope to see everyone here September 26th\, 1-4pm.

DESCRIPTION:A little later than usual\, our first Brewery of the Month tasting will be August 14th 4-6.  The brewery will be the great Victory\, a staple in the beer world and at the forefront of the industry.  From their great year round offering like Golden Monkey\, Hop Devil\, and Prima Pils\,  they will gain great support.  Then you have their four pack line\, such as Dirt Wolf Double IPA\, Storm King Imperial Stout\, and now their Saison du Buff\, a collaboration with Stone Brewing and Dogfish.  Need I say more?  OK\, I will.  They also produce a great line up of limited release 22oz bottles that bring big flavors with delicate balancing.  This should be a fun one\, come out to join us.  August 14th 4-6pm.

SUMMARY:Chimay
DESCRIPTION:It is not very often that we get a bonafide Trappist ale to come out and taste their line up.  So when Dave from Chimay called us\, we of course said yes.  So on August 8th from 2-4pm we will be tasting all the Chimay ales that this Belgium brewery has.  While they do not have the same catalog that most of our American breweries have\, they have been brewing for centuries to perfect their blends.  You will notice that trappists do not have many beers.  There is a reason for that.  I think its somewhere along the lines of “if it ain’t broke\, don’t fix it.”  But what do I know?  August 8th 2-4.

DESCRIPTION:Always fun to have Lagunitas come in to do a tasting.  This California brewer has taken the East Coast by storm\, flooding the market with hop forward beers that people can’t get enough of.  Not only do they have their great year round offerings\, from their IPA and Pils to more unique styles like found in their Lagunitas Sucks and Little Sumpin’\, Sumpin’ Ale\, but they have great seasonal offerings that are constantly changing.  With their new Citrusinesis Pale Ale\, a great citrus ale that seems more like an IPA than Pale Ale\, they will continue to release experimental beers that push the envelope\, most likely with pounds and pounds of hops mixed in.  Come out August 7th 4-6pm to see what Lagunitas is working with.

SUMMARY:Newburyport/Bantam
DESCRIPTION:For our first tasting of the year we are having some of my favorite Massachusetts libations producers come in for a 2-for-1 tasting.  For beer we will have the always great Newburyport Brewing Co.  This north shore brewery makes one of Mass’ best year round IPAs with their Green Head IPA.  As well as this fine IPA\, they will have Melt Away Session IPA and Plum Island Belgium White to sample as well.  As for cider\, the Somerville cider makers of Bantam will be kind enough to let us sample some of their stuff.  Their Wunderkind is a great dry cider in a sea of sweet Massachusetts ciders.  We will also be tasting their Rojo\, with sour cherries and peppercorns\, and Americain\, a mixture of old world\, new world cider making techniques that great a really unique\, pie-like flavor.  Come try them all and see why they are some of my favorites.  Saturday\, August 1st 1-3.

DESCRIPTION:Hailing from one of my favorite places in the world\, these Vermont breweries are staples in the beer world.  Long Trail is the big guy\, owning production rights to Shed\, Otter Creek\, and Otter Creek Organic subsidiary Wolaver’s.  Otter Creek\, as previously mentioned\, have just had a whole re branding\, changing not only the look of the packages\, but completely starting fresh with their core offerings.  Come down to try out both Long Trail seasonals as well as the new Otter Creek.  All worth a try\, should be fun.  June 26th 4-6.
