DESCRIPTION:So we are introducing a new program in November\, Brewery of the Month.  Each month we will feature a new brewery where we have a large selection\, a couple informative tastings\, and will be posting facts about the brewery every day.  To start things off we will be featuring Rogue out of Oregon.  Considered one of the top major breweries in the country\, Rogue really brings high quality to the masses.  Rogue has been growing their own ingredients on their farm\, from the hops to raising the bees for honey and pollinating.  We will be tasting over a dozen of select ales on November 15th and 22nd from 1-3pm both days.  A fun tasting with a great brewery not once\, but twice.  How could things get any better?

DESCRIPTION:Kuka works to bring traditional ingredients from the Andean region of South America and combine it with a modern approach to craft brewing.  The word “kuka” itself means “food for workers and travelers” in Aymaran\, a native Andean language.  Kuka focuses on using ingredients that were central to daily and ceremonial traditions of people from the Andes.  The maca root\, native to the High Andes in Peru and used as a root vegetable for cooking\, for medicinal purposes\, as well as a supposed aphrodisiac\,  is at the heart of every beer they produce. SUMMARY:Spencer Trappist & Bantam Cider Tasting
DESCRIPTION:On May 16th we are having a two-for-one tasting.  While both drink makers are producing high quality beverages\, they are in two very different categories.  First we have a Trappist Ale from Spencer.  Brewed by the Monk’s of Saint Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer\, MA\, this ale is quickly becoming one of the most highly sought out brews from Massachusetts.  Unfiltered and unpasteurized\, Spencer is golden hued\, full body\, with accents of fruit and subtle hop bitterness.   The other libations we will be tasting are from Bantam\, a cidery out of Somerville.  Bantam produces some high quality\, small batch ciders.  We will be tasting their flagship Wunderkind\, a light and crisp cider\, and the Rojo\, a cider which is aged with sour cherries and black peppercorn and uses an ale yeast.  Come out between 4-6pm to taste these two relatively new\, but well received beverages.  Our old friend Pat Suleski.

Every year we gather up all the Pumpkin and Oktoberfest beers we can get our hands on and have a grand tasting showcasing the whole lot.  We are opening over 50 kinds of beer from brewers near and far.  We have many Oktoberfest beers from Germany as well as from all around the US.  We have Pumpkin porters\, pumpkin ales\, and pumpkin ciders that will satisfy any lover of all things pumpkin.  We will be grilling up bratwurst as well and all of this is completely FREE!  This is our biggest tasting of the year and an event that will be both informative and fun.    This will be an all-hands-on-deck tasting.  Everyone here will be helping with the tasting\, so it is a nice time to come out and interact with our staff.  Representatives from different breweries will be helping us pour their seasonal brews.  This is the granddaddy of beer tastings and one you will not want to miss.

Maca is a main source of food and one of the very few plants that can be cultivated in the harsh climate of the Andes.  And for thousands of years\, Maca has provided the natives with the means to survive for generations.  To the natives\, Maca provides the quintessential reason to celebrate Pachamama’s (Mother Earth’s) bountiful gifts. \nImagine a place where ancient knowledge meets modern concepts\, where tradition meets the distinct\, a place where two elements fuse as one\, a place so exhilarating it escapes the imagination. This union is only possible because of the long-standing tradition of the Andean people committing themselves to the Pachamama – Mother Earth \nAt Andean Brewing Company – KUKA – our mission is to unite ancient Andean ingredients with our premium hand-crafted beers; while respecting the traditions of antiquity. We search the world looking for super plants that can be brewed for their unique characteristics. \nBattle Road Brewing Company \nJeremy Cross and Scott Houghton have worked together for well over a decade.
