SUMMARY:Sam Adams Stein Hoisting Competition.
DESCRIPTION:You might have seen this in a Sam Adams commercial.  A bunch of people standing in a circle\, holding a full beer stein out in front of them for as long as they can.  What you might not have known is that if you can hold a stein in front of you long enough\, Sam Adams will send you to Las Vegas to compete in the National Stein Hoisting competition.  The winner of that will be sent to next years Oktoberfest in Munich to compete in the World Championships.  Think you’ve got the shoulder strength and endurance to go all the way?  Come out Saturday October 15th when we will be an official location for people to try to qualify for this competition.  People will be hoisting steins outside\, but we will also be grilling up burgers and hotdogs.  On the inside\, we’ll have tastings of Sam Adams\, Angry Orchard\, and Truly Seltzer.  We’ll have plenty of beer swag for people to take home\, but the top times will bring home their own Steins. Everyone who enters the competition will be part of a raffle for a charcoal grill courtesy of Sam Adams.  Come test your shoulder endurance and join us Saturday October 15th from 1-3pm.

SUMMARY:Pony Shack Cider
DESCRIPTION:Brand new to our shelves\, we are proud to be able to support this new cider company.  Based in neighboring Boxborough\, these ciders source all their apple from surrounding orchards.  Quintessential Massachusetts apple cider\, trying to recreate the styles and flavors from the early days of Massachusetts.  We will be pouring two of their ciders\, their Fifer’s Dream and Barrel-Me-Over.  Fifer’s Dream is a traditional dry style cider.  While most cider companies like to say they are dry\, Pony Shack actually delivers.  Barrel-Me-Over is a bourbon barrel aged cider using barrels from Hillrock Distillery in Hudson Valley\, NY.  We would love for you to come and check out the new cider maker from just down the street.   Saturday\, October 8th 1-3pm.

Jonny Appleseed may have put cider on the tables of Americans\,but the French and Spanish had been producing cider long before Jonny was a twinkle in his father’s eye. \nHowever\, taste is subjective which is why there is nothing like trying it for yourself. We will be hosting Lee\, from Winesellers\, who will be sampling a handful of craft ciders his company imports. These are real ciders with cork and cage but without all of the pretentiousness associated with other European exports. DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again where the leaves start to change\, the crispness is in the air\, and fall beers are coming into season.  It is also this time of year that we do our Grand Oktoberfest tasting.  For those who do not know about it\, we will open every Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers we have in stock.  And I mean everything.  We will be opening over 50 beers from foreign and domestic breweries.  Not only will there be copious amounts of beer\, we will also be grilling up bratwurst for everyone.  And to top it all off\, we will be raffling some great stuff too.  With a fire pit\, a grill\, and a record player to name just a few\, your only chance to enter will be during the tasting.  So with all this in mind\, we hope to see everyone here September 26th\, 1-4pm.

SUMMARY:Newburyport/Bantam
DESCRIPTION:For our first tasting of the year we are having some of my favorite Massachusetts libations producers come in for a 2-for-1 tasting.  For beer we will have the always great Newburyport Brewing Co.  This north shore brewery makes one of Mass’ best year round IPAs with their Green Head IPA.  As well as this fine IPA\, they will have Melt Away Session IPA and Plum Island Belgium White to sample as well.  As for cider\, the Somerville cider makers of Bantam will be kind enough to let us sample some of their stuff.  Their Wunderkind is a great dry cider in a sea of sweet Massachusetts ciders.  We will also be tasting their Rojo\, with sour cherries and peppercorns\, and Americain\, a mixture of old world\, new world cider making techniques that great a really unique\, pie-like flavor.  Come try them all and see why they are some of my favorites.  Saturday\, August 1st 1-3.
