DESCRIPTION:Making whisky since 1814 doesn’t exactly make Loch Lomond new single malt\, but they are a recent addition to the shelves.  It’s not that these bottles haven’t yet sold in the US\, it’s a re-branding and a value proposition that make this exciting.  In an area of surging prices\, Loch Lomond is decidedly  modest (price wise).  A traditional Highland style is presented with the faintest hint of smoke.  Across the range there is much to discover as different casks add their character to the malt.

DESCRIPTION:I am very pleased\, and fortunate\, to have Donal O’Gallachoir hosting our favorite Irish Whiskey experience.  Donal is one of the principals at the Glendalough craft distillery in Ireland.  At one time there were many craft distilleries in Ireland however\, consolidation and large corporate ownership have shaped distilling in Ireland for a long time.  Glendalough is a true craft distillery and one of our favorites. \nGlendalough’s whiskeys bring quality and breadth to what was a ubiquitous category.  If you thought you knew Irish whiskey\, think again.  I was thrilled to learn about the history of distilling in Ireland and to taste spirits that are well outside my expectations.  I hope you will be too. \nThe spectacular countryside where the distillery is located is also home to some fine foraging.  Foraging near a distillery almost always leads to gin.  And a fine gin indeed… The terroir of the Wicklow Countryside is ’embottled’ using fresh foragings and a traditional (for whiskey) cooper pot still. \nJoin us for an Irish whiskey experience\, December 7th from 4-7pm.
