SUMMARY:Copper Cane Wine Seminar with Sofie
DESCRIPTION:There are few better portfolios that exemplify the craft of domestic winemaking than Copper Cane.\nCopper Cane is a branch off of the Caymus family tree. Joe Wagner son of Charles Wagner\, founder of Caymus\, decided he needed to branch out and try something different. Joe felt like he needed to step away from Caymus’ shadow. Enter\, Meiomi. Although Meiomi is no longer owned by Joe\, it was the catalyst for Copper Cane. \nCopper Cane is a portrayal of the broad range of winemaking that Joe is capable of. It is also a look at the range of wines that grace the vineyards of the United States. These wines take an in-depth look at some of the best sources for varietals like Pinot Noir\, Cabernet Sauvignon\, and Chardonnay and wrap them up in nice packaging. Sofie Daniels has graciously donated some of her time to stop by to teach us a little about the Copper Cane portfolio and its wines. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to our Annual Fall Grand Wine Tasting!\nWhat is better than wine? In case you didn’t know the answer\, it is\, nothing. Nothing is better than wine. Whiskey might have some history but all the magic happens in the barrel. Beer\, on the other hand\, requires the guidance of the head brewer. Wine is a bit of everything. From the vineyards to the vines to the grapes and ending with barrels\, wine is a novel and not a short story. \nThere is more to wine than what is in the glass. Sure\, it can be broken down to crushed grapes that fermented and put into a barrel. But real wines have a real story and to better understand the wine you have to understand its history. And\, sometimes\, to better understand the wine you have to understand the culture surrounding it. Easier said than done. \nWith so many different offerings it can be daunting to pick the “right one.” That is where we step in. We have both the wines and the story\, at the very least the people that know the story. Whether it is a fruit-forward Pinot Noir\, an enticing Gruner Veltliner\, or a soft-spoken Beaujolais there will be wines and stories abound. \nSo take the time out of your busy schedule to stop by and enjoy an afternoon of good wines and stories. \nCheers!

DESCRIPTION:This is tasting that has been a couple of years in the making. Ken has been a long time supporter of ours\, but more importantly he has been a long time wine aficionado. Winner of the 2013 Wine Blog Award and a 2014 Wine Blog Award finalist\, Ken knows a thing or two about wine tasting. Ken regularly holds wine tastings at his house\, but this time around\, we decided that we would have one of his tastings at the store. Together we have picked out a few wines that we agree are good and worth tasting\, some that we have had at our store in the past and some new ones we will be promoting for the first time at the tasting.
