DESCRIPTION:“Whoever tends a fig tree will eat its fruit.”\nGallery 529 of Littleton\, in conjunction with the Gallery Café\, is pleased to announce a new juried art show and fundraising effort to benefit Loaves and Fishes of Ayer. Based on the proverb\, “He who tends a fig tree shall eat its fruit” the  Gallery Café and Gallery 529 are planning a two week focus on ways we can all work to save our planet\, so it can continue to provide for all of us. \nThe two-week event starts on Saturday\,  January 14th\, from 7 to 9 pm.  Food will be provided by the Gallery Café.\nColonial Spirits of Acton assisted by Sue Nordberg will be hosting a wine tasting promoting organic wines. There will be live music\, crafts to make\, and delicious food\, all to benefit a worthy local cause. \nAccording to Gallery and Café owner Virginia Wood\, “Lately\, I have been feeling like I need to do more to help protect the environment. This event is the beginning of a series of events to focus on critical issues which will culminate with a call to action delineating a series of simple tasks folks can do to help. I just don’t think we can sit back any longer…too much is at stake. The old adage\, ‘Think Globally and Act Locally’ will be our focus of 2017\, and we hope the greater community will join us.” \nThe artists of Gallery 529\, of whom there are 30 member artists\, are also supporting the theme by creating artwork from recycled or up-cycled materials. Nancy Burke\, a glass artist from Marlboro\, makes beautiful cheese boards from recycled melted wine and champagne bottles. Jewelry artist Diane Delgado from Carlisle\, MA.\, will be highlighting her etched copper jewelry made from upcycled copper flashing. Townsend artist Nancy French makes warm boiled wool mittens from up-cycled sweaters. Local artists are also encouraged to get involved in the juried art show\, which will run for the last two weeks of January. There will be no entry fees to encourage more folks to enter and support the good work of Loaves and Fishes. \nThe Gallery Café\, during the two weeks of the event\, will be donating 10% of its food sales to Loaves and Fishes. Gallery 529 will also donate 10% of its sales during the two weeks to Loaves and Fishes.\nColonial Spirits of Acton 87 Great Road www.colonialspirits.com\, will have a box where their customers can make donations of non-perishable food and toiletry items for Loaves and Fishes throughout the month of January. \nTickets purchased will also support the good work of Loaves and Fishes – $20 of every ticket sold will go directly to the organization. \nOn January 21\, or very soon thereafter\, we also hope to host a monthly call to action lecture and discussion\, where folks can get involved to help on local initiatives. They are produced right here in MA. \nTodd Bellomy\, head brewer at Dovetail\, honed his art in Japan and brought here to Massachusetts with one thing in mind\, freshness. Because most of the Sakes available to us are either from Japan\, California or Oregon they aren’t as fresh as they could be. He wanted to change this by producing actual Sake using traditional methods and getting it to restaurants and retailers as fresh as possible. DESCRIPTION:Global Wine Inc\, has been around for a while and we have been in business with for just as long. In that time we have seen brands like Marta’s Vineyard\, Flama D’or\, and Wicked. Their most recent venture\, and now ours\, is the Le Versant. Le Versant is from Southern France\, and like many of the wines from that region are varietally driven. With so many producers pushing oak flavors or other flavors (Bourbon)\, it is nice to see wines that showcase the fruit from which they are made. In addition to classicly clean flavors\, these wines are sharply priced. The idea is that great wine doesn’t need to be expensive. Everyone should be able to enjoy a nice bottle without having to worry about the pocket book. If you are looking for that table wine to have during the holiday season\, this is the label to look for. But you don’t have to take my word.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome\, to our 7th Annual Fall Grand Wine Tasting. We find ourselves\, once again\, heading into fall and nothing defines the changing of the season more than the switch from white wine to red wine. However\, all is not lost for white wine because this grand wine tasting doesn’t focus on just red wines\, in fact\, white\, rosé\, and sparkling wines all make an appearance. This is the most dynamic of our “Grand Tastings” as the focus is on wines that pair well with fall. What says the night is young like a good\, oaky Chardonnay. Or\, better yet\, ever had grilled salmon with a hearty Pinot Noir? Regardless of whether you have an affinity for or an aversion to red or white wine\, there will be something here for everyone. \nLike past grand wine tastings\, this is a two-weekend event. Neither weekend is the same. None of the reps are the same\, so none of the wines are the same. Each weekend is unique\, so if you miss one weekend you have missed the opportunity to try around 50 or so unique wines. From the standard Unoaked Chardonnay to something a bit more unique like the Shades of Grey Rosé\, there is a wine for all tastes. These wines are wonderful representations of the NE winemaking style.
