DESCRIPTION:May 20\, 2011 – \nLatitude 48 IPA is a flavorful IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from renowned German\, English\, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude.  The brew is dry hopped for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma.  The assertive but not overpowering hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the five different malts. \nSingle hop beers… All good and all free to try at our tasting! \nHalltertau Mittelfrueh Noble Hops: \nA traditional variety of Bavaria’s Hallertau in Germany\, these hops contribute soft bitterness and delicate lemony citrus and resinous pine notes. \nEast Kent Goldings: \nA variety first used in brewing in the 1700s in East Kent\, England\, these hops contribute a mellow bitterness to this brew\, along with earthy\, floral\, and apricot notes. \nAhtanum: \nA newer variety from the Yakima Valley area of WA\, these hops contribute a balanced and typically “American” orange peel\, piney\, and floral flavor and aroma. \nSimcoe: \nAlso from the Yakima Valley area of WA\, these hops contribute a profound bitterness and dramatic grapefruit peel and pine resin notes. \nZeus: \nAnother varietal from the Yakima Valley area of WA\, these hops contribute bitterness and an intense\, pungent resinous pine flavor.
