SUMMARY:House Bear Brewing Mead Tasting
DESCRIPTION:It ain’t a party without a House Bear. Or two.\nHouse Bear Brewing may be one of the OG meaderies. They were founded in 2013 which puts them ahead of most–also around the time craft beer was taking off. Like the Vikings\, HBB had a long road ahead of them as selling mead is no easy task. In order to stay in business\, HBB would have to outwit craft breweries\, wineries\, and whiskey distilleries. And that is exactly what they did. What was once a lineup of mostly modern-traditional meads\, soon became a playground for the enthusiast and novice. Looking to take a small step into mead\, try their Bloody Joe (a mead based Bloody Mary). Well versed on meads\, than maybe the Show Bear is what you are looking for. Regardless of where you stand\, they have a mead for you. As HBB says\, “You say that you don’t like mead\, but that is because you haven’t found the right one yet.” \nCheers!

DESCRIPTION:Spey is a little known craft distillery from… yes\, Speyside\, Scotland.  The distillery produces light bodied and remarkably clean whisky.  The delicate flavors from careful aging represent the quality of casks and the skill of the master blender.  An incredibly sophisticated malt at a local distillery price.  Better still\, lifetime whisky enthusiast\, distillery explorer and showman Charlie Tower will walk you through the expressions sharing his expert experience and fun stories. \nThis is the perfect single malt for Thanksgiving\, with three expressions to share with your guests. \nTENNE – Spey’s signature malt is finished for 6 months in Tawny Port casks to create this vibrantly colored\, fruit forward whisky.  The sweetness is reasonable and each sip coaxes another as it opens up. \nTRUTINA – The crisp\, cleanliness of this malt holds many flavors delivering almond butter\, orange blossoms and fresh barley.  As it is named\, the balance is perfect. \nFUMARE – As indicated by the name this is the peated expression.  Similarly\, it is soft and not overdone.  It is distinctly smoky but the toasted barley\, candied apples and sweet nuts come together to create a wonderful flavor.
