With brands like MacMurray\, which is dedicated to bringing the best examples of Pinot Noir from Sonoma\, and Louis Martini\, a cab driven brand that has one of the industries best kept secrets (Monte Rosso). This is an opportunity to hear from the horse’s mouth\, and no one knows more about E&J’s wine than Andrew. Andrew has been a long time colleague of ours\, and it’s thanks to him we have brands like Clarendon and Brancaia. SUMMARY:Spencer Trappist & Bantam Cider Tasting
DESCRIPTION:On May 16th we are having a two-for-one tasting.  While both drink makers are producing high quality beverages\, they are in two very different categories.  First we have a Trappist Ale from Spencer.  Brewed by the Monk’s of Saint Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer\, MA\, this ale is quickly becoming one of the most highly sought out brews from Massachusetts.  Unfiltered and unpasteurized\, Spencer is golden hued\, full body\, with accents of fruit and subtle hop bitterness.   The other libations we will be tasting are from Bantam\, a cidery out of Somerville.  Bantam produces some high quality\, small batch ciders.  We will be tasting their flagship Wunderkind\, a light and crisp cider\, and the Rojo\, a cider which is aged with sour cherries and black peppercorn and uses an ale yeast.  Come out between 4-6pm to taste these two relatively new\, but well received beverages.  Our old friend Pat Suleski.

DESCRIPTION:They say that there is nothing like working together to unify a community\, I say that there is nothing like sharing a glass a wine to bring a community together. Which leads us to our Grand Harvest Tasting; a two part event that will be taking place over two Saturdays: Sept 27th and Oct 4th. Each tasting will run from 2PM-5PM and will showcase 40+ of our finest wines\, none of which will be repeated\, so\, if you can\, don’t miss either. Outside of the obvious fact that there will be a lot of wine on these weekends\, these weekends also happen to be a great time to make new friends or catch up with old wines; find new wines or enjoy the beauty of a good classic. DESCRIPTION:This tasting will be HUGE. Every year we gather up all the Pumpkin and Oktoberfest beers we can get our hands on and have a grand tasting showcasing the whole lot.  We are opening over 50 kinds of beer from brewers near and far.  We have many Oktoberfest beers from Germany as well as from all around the US.  We have Pumpkin porters\, pumpkin ales\, and pumpkin ciders that will satisfy any lover of all things pumpkin.  We will be grilling up bratwurst as well and all of this is completely FREE!  This is our biggest tasting of the year and an event that will be both informative and fun.    This will be an all-hands-on-deck tasting.  Everyone here will be helping with the tasting\, so it is a nice time to come out and interact with our staff.  Representatives from different breweries will be helping us pour their seasonal brews.  This is the granddaddy of beer tastings and one you will not want to miss.

DESCRIPTION:Ardbeg Scotch Whisky is good stuff.  It’s peaty\, smoky\, delicious and carefully crafted.  The folks at Ardbeg like to have fun and they have made the brand as big as the malt by constantly pushing the boundaries of marketing.  To celebrate their peated history they teamed up with Orange County Choppers to custom build a\, “rugged 3-wheeled vehicle that’s a cross between a chopper and a tractor.”  Inspired by the machinery used on Islay in the peat bogs\, this ‘Peat Hopper’ can go anywhere\, but will be at Colonial Spirits on Wednesday the 24th from 5-7pm.  Along with this super cool trike there will be a sampling of Ardbeg so don’t miss out!

Although having ties to the mafia can not be tasted in wine… “Shows hints of unnecessary anger and violence…” being organic\, however\, makes difference.
