SUMMARY:Lexington Bourbon
DESCRIPTION:Lexington Bourbon is an outstanding everyday Bourbon with enough rye to add some spice but an overall deep flavor\, rich oak and vanilla.  At 86 proof it is an excellent cocktail builder yet not too hot on its own.  It’s an exceptional value! \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Balblair and Ancnoc Single Malt Presentation
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to welcome back Erik Greenstein for a presentation of Scotch that you won’t want to miss.  Once again he brings whisky that may be lesser known but delivers remarkable quality.  Balblair is among Scotland’s oldest distilleries and offers a rich style that is viscous and full bodied.  The 1990 vintage bottling is aged 25 years and\, certainly\, the best buy on the shelf.  Ancnoc (“a-knock”) from the Knockdhu distillery is a modern expression of a century old malt.  Creamy and fruity these soft scotches are both sophisticated and complex. \nErik will present these fine distilleries at 6:15 \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Goose Island Wild Ales
DESCRIPTION:Goose Island has been taking over tap lines all over the place and takes over at the end of the year with Bourbon County.  What is probably their least known\, or maybe better would be least tried\, line up is their collection of Belgian-inspired wild ales.  So on October 27th\, we will have a tasting to spotlight these beers.  We will do ALL of the wild ales.  Considering they range from $10-$32\, this tasting is a rare opportunity to taste all of these back to back. \nWe will be opening Sofie\, Matilda\, Lolita\, Halia\, Gillian\, Juliet\, and Madame Rose. \nMore details to come\, so stay tuned.  Also\, keep an eye out for the Hop on the Bus with more details. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Italian Liqueurs- Canceled
DESCRIPTION:Not exactly local\, but Caffo liqueurs are just the type of products that we love to promote.  Alessio and his family have owned small distilleries for generations and farm the natural ingredients that make their liqueurs so full of flavor and freshness.  Each brands’ heritage has a story and Alessio and Luca will be here to tell it on a Saturday afternoon.  This is not a tasting to miss\, even if liqueur isn’t your regular drink.  Everything they produce is worth trying. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Old Pulteney and Speyburn Single Malts
DESCRIPTION:Join host Erik Greenstein for a presentation of single malt scotches from two distilleries that you may have overlooked.  The Speyburn distillery is a classic Victorian distillery producing beautiful aperitif whisky.  Perhaps simplistic\, the Speyburn 10yr is simply an unusual value.  The Bradan Orach and Arranta are blended to offer more body and character.  Old Pulteney is one of Scotland’s northernmost distilleries and proudly displays its coastal location with a nautical theme and a distinctly salty character. \nErik will present  at 6:15pm on Wednesday\, October 19th.  See you there! \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Sam Adams Stein Hoisting Competition.
DESCRIPTION:You might have seen this in a Sam Adams commercial.  A bunch of people standing in a circle\, holding a full beer stein out in front of them for as long as they can.  What you might not have known is that if you can hold a stein in front of you long enough\, Sam Adams will send you to Las Vegas to compete in the National Stein Hoisting competition.  The winner of that will be sent to next years Oktoberfest in Munich to compete in the World Championships.  Think you’ve got the shoulder strength and endurance to go all the way?  Come out Saturday October 15th when we will be an official location for people to try to qualify for this competition.  People will be hoisting steins outside\, but we will also be grilling up burgers and hotdogs.  On the inside\, we’ll have tastings of Sam Adams\, Angry Orchard\, and Truly Seltzer.  We’ll have plenty of beer swag for people to take home\, but the top times will bring home their own Steins. Everyone who enters the competition will be part of a raffle for a charcoal grill courtesy of Sam Adams. Come test your shoulder endurance and join us Saturday October 15th from 1-3pm. \n\n\n	Related

On this evening we will be hosting Michele from Mill River Winery out of Rowley\, MA for a night of wine tasting and fun. From the standard Unoaked Chardonnay to something a bit more unique like the Shades of Grey Rosé\, there is a wine for all tastes. These wines are wonderful representations of the NE winemaking style. We have just the wines. \nCheck out their webpage for more info: Mill River Winery \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:19 Crimes Wine Tasting
DESCRIPTION:In reference to all of the criminals that were shipped to Australia from mother England\, 19 Crimes pays tribute to the “bold” gents that marooned on this deserted island nation. Regardless of how you may feel about these occurrences\, the wine is as intriguing as the label and the stories behind the labels. For the first time in our history\, we will be sampling through the 19 Crimes wine lineup which includes 19 Crimes Red Blend\, 19 Crimes Cabernet Sauvignon\, and the Warden Red Blend. This brand is trending so why not stop by and see why. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Pony Shack Cider
DESCRIPTION:Brand new to our shelves\, we are proud to be able to support this new cider company.  Based in neighboring Boxborough\, these ciders source all their apple from surrounding orchards.  Quintessential Massachusetts apple cider\, trying to recreate the styles and flavors from the early days of Massachusetts.  We will be pouring two of their ciders\, their Fifer’s Dream and Barrel-Me-Over.  Fifer’s Dream is a traditional dry style cider.  While most cider companies like to say they are dry\, Pony Shack actually delivers.  Barrel-Me-Over is a bourbon barrel aged cider using barrels from Hillrock Distillery in Hudson Valley\, NY.  We would love for you to come and check out the new cider maker from just down the street.   Saturday\, October 8th 1-3pm. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Maker's 46
DESCRIPTION:Many wonder what the ‘Makers 46′ offshoot of world-famous Maker’s Mark Bourbon is all about.  The ’46’ comes from the seared French-oak staves that are added to the barrel during aging (indicating how the oak was charred).  The tried and true Maker’s Mark is aged longer and given the influence of Charred French Oak to bring out sweet\, toasty\, cherried flavors.  If you like a full flavored Bourbon in your cocktails or want to sip something rich but soft this is a fine expression of a time tested spirit. \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Winesellers' Cidra (Cider) Tasting
DESCRIPTION:You may have heard this\, but in case you didn’t\, Ciders are a thing. From California to France\, it seems that every state and country are now producing ciders. Whether you prefer a nice cold beer or would rather contemplate over a glass of wine\, there is a cider for everyone. Like their counterparts\, the best ciders in the world come from countries that have a history in making it. Jonny Appleseed may have put cider on the tables of Americans\,but the French and Spanish had been producing cider long before Jonny was a twinkle in his father’s eye. \nHowever\, taste is subjective which is why there is nothing like trying it for yourself. We will be hosting Lee\, from Winesellers\, who will be sampling a handful of craft ciders his company imports. These are real ciders with cork and cage but without all of the pretentiousness associated with other European exports. So\, if you are looking to change things up or just looking for the next best cider\, this is it. \nHere’s the lineup: \nLe Brun Cidre de Bretagne Brut\nLe Brun Organic Cidre\nManoir de Grandouet Cidre Fermier Brut\nManoir de Grandouet Cidre Pays d’Auge AOP\nMayador Sidra Natural Still/Dry \nQuick Reads: \nLe Brun \nManoir de Grandouet \nMayador \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Come Learn About & Enjoy Sidra – the Ciders of Summer!
DESCRIPTION:Sidra is Spanish cider and Spanish for cider. A wild yeast fermented beverage that goes back millennia to before Roman times. Traditional Sidra is earthy\, tart and sour – and unlike American cider\, has no bubbles or sugar (closer to sour beer than cider in many respects). The new wave of Spanish Sidra however\, marries the old with the new creating a white wine-like offerings similar to Cava\, Prosecco\, and Champagne\, while still sporting the refreshing notes of its heritage. Made from the sourest apples on the planet\, these libations defy classification and are startling in their thirst quenching elegance. \nCome join Ken Zuckerman from Ciders of Spain and sample some of the summer’s best choices for entertaining – perfect accompaniments to grilled fare\, BBQ\, cheeses\, cured meats\, seafood & more – and learn about what is arguably the world’s oldest continuously consumed fermented beverage! \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Kono Sauvignon Blanc Wine Tasting
DESCRIPTION:TASTING NOTES: \nA brilliant pale green in the glass\, this pure and bright Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has a vibrant fruit driven nose bursting with passionfruit\, grapefruit\, melon\, and gooseberry. On the palate luscious fruit flavours of citrus\, ripe tropical fruits\, and lifted herbaceous notes are finely balanced with zesty acidity\, an underlying minerality\, and just a hint of residual sweetness. Juicy\, crisp and fresh this wine leads to a long and dry\, persistent finish. – www.kono.co.nz \n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Stony Creek #1

SUMMARY:Loire Valley Wine Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Do a Google search on the Loire Valley and\, regardless of the main topic\, you’re likely to find that the most common term used to describe the region is “diversity.” From the river’s source in the central mountainous Massif Centrale\, to its mouth at the Bay of Biscay some 620 miles to the west\, the region is rich in biological\, environmental\, architectural\, agricultural and historical abundance\, making the Loire Valley one of the most popular regional tourist destinations in France. \nThat being the case\, it should come as no surprise that\, of all of the country’s viticultural regions\, the Loire produces the greatest diversity of white\, red and pink sparkling and still wine styles. Interestingly\, the region’s winemakers\, who represent the Loire’s five major sub-regions and more that 60 AOCs\, manage to do so with a relatively small selection of both white and red grapes; primarily Sauvignon Blanc\, Chenin Blanc\, Melon de Bourgogne\, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc. What makes such variation possible is the diversity of the region’s climatic conditions\, soils\, topographies and other natural conditions. \nTo learn more about what makes Loire Valley wines so diverse\, the Colonial Spirits wine team invites you to try a few representative samples at a free tasting this coming Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. We will also be offering a 20% discount on six or more bottles of every Loire white and red in the store from 9:00 am on the 25th until our 6:00 pm closing on the 26th. \n\n\n	Related
