Ribera del Duero may not be as well known as Rioja\, but the wines are just as serious\, in some cases even more so. The wines are rich and powerful\, they resemble New World wines more so than Old World wines. Rueda is known for its white wines. These wines are classic representations of the region and wines from Europe: bright acidity\, stone fruit notes\, and pair well with an array of dishes. The only downside is that the varietal Verdejo is less known than other varietals like Sauvignon Blanc\, Chardonnay\, and Pinot Grigio\, but it’s quality is right up there with the rest. It took a very innovative group to realize Columbia Winery’s potential and bring the brand back into the market in a way that had never been done before. The brand was relabeled\, reinvented\, made to be a restaurant only wine\, up until recently\, and with any luck and perseverance will become a power brand soon enough. The wines from Columbia Winery show exemplarily fruit for each varietal\, and great balance with the red blend. The Columbia wines are rich\, well balanced\, and stylistic of not only the varietal but the region. SUMMARY:Journeyman Barrel Selction
DESCRIPTION:One of the best new craft distilleries is Journeyman Distillery.  Their focus on quality is unique as they own the farm on which the grains for their spirits are grown.  Seed to bottle production is difficult to match\, but Journeyman also takes great care in small batch distilling followed by aging in 15 gallon barrels.  The smaller barrels mean more surface area for the volume of liquid and the whiskey develops more quickly.  The difference is amazing and the variation between barrels is remarkable. \nWe intend to buy one of these exceptional barrels for an exclusive Colonial Spirits bottling! Like other single barrel purchases\, this will be an opportunity to acquire a very unique and extremely high quality whiskey.  The difference\, however\, is that these small batch offerings are hand crafted from seed to bottle and are produced in very small quantities.  Getting a single barrel like this\, at cask strength\, is like winning the whiskey lottery. \nThe selection will take place on Saturday\, March 28th from 1:30-3:30pm (or whenever the small samples run dry) and we want you to decide with us. DESCRIPTION:So who better to have on the last day of February for a tasting other than our Brewery of the Month\, Jack’s Abby.  It will have been a great month with Jack’s and we want to end it with a bang.  So on February 28th from 2-4 pm we will be hosting Jack’s Abby for the second time this month.  Unsure of what we will be tasting\, but I guarantee you that you will not be upset by anything they bring.  Come out\, taste some beers\, talk with Jack’s Abby’s very knowledgeable representative\, and help us end this month in style.  Again\, that will be February 28th from 2-4pm. \n  \nNOTE:  Not only will be tasting some of Jack’s Abby’s regular offerings\, but will be pouring out some of their special releases that you cannot buy in stores.  So make sure to come out to try Jack’s Abby Sour Beer Project #2\, a Brett Biere de Garde\, 2013 Framinghammer and Lager Ness Monster.  Very excited to be able to show off what Jack’s Abby can do. \nAt 2pm we will open Jack’s Abby Sour Beer Project #2.\nAt 2:30pm we will open a Brett Biere de Garde.\nAt 3pm we will open 2013 Framminghammer and a Cocoa-Nut Barrel Aged Framinghammer.\nAt 3:30pm we will open Lager Ness Monster. \n\n\n	Related

DESCRIPTION:Very excited to have Oskar Blues come in for a tasting February 27th from 5-7.  These North Carolina brewers have been the kings of cans\, releasing their entire line of beers in cans.  Long before you heard of Heady Topper in cans and all the summer offerings\, Oskar Blues has been canning Dale’s Pale Ale since 2002.  Colorado is brewing some great beers and Oskar Blues has been at the forefront\, leading the field in quality and availability.    Again\, that will be from 5-7 pm on February 27th.  See you then! \n\n\n	Related
