DESCRIPTION:I am very pleased\, and fortunate\, to have Donal O’Gallachoir hosting our favorite Irish Whiskey experience.  Donal is one of the principals at the Glendalough craft distillery in Ireland.  At one time there were many craft distilleries in Ireland however\, consolidation and large corporate ownership have shaped distilling in Ireland for a long time.  Glendalough is a true craft distillery and one of our favorites. \nGlendalough’s whiskeys bring quality and breadth to what was a ubiquitous category.  If you thought you knew Irish whiskey\, think again.  I was thrilled to learn about the history of distilling in Ireland and to taste spirits that are well outside my expectations.  I hope you will be too. \nThe spectacular countryside where the distillery is located is also home to some fine foraging.  Foraging near a distillery almost always leads to gin.  And a fine gin indeed… The terroir of the Wicklow Countryside is ’embottled’ using fresh foragings and a traditional (for whiskey) cooper pot still. \nJoin us for an Irish whiskey experience\, December 7th from 4-7pm. \n\n\n	Related

DESCRIPTION:Wente Vineyards has a history of winemaking as prestigious as the California winemaking industry.\nOne of the first wineries established\, Wente Vineyards cut its teeth early on in more ways than one. However\, what truly put Wente on the map was the creation of the Wente clone Chardonnay. \nOne of the greatest untold tidbits of information is that not all Chardonnays are the same. It is clear to most that the winemaker and region makes a difference\, but how many know about clonal variation. From 667 to Wente\, the different clones of Chardonnay impart their own nuances on the wine. The Wente family found the now eponymously named clone in France and discovered it suited the California climate. Fast forward to today and the Wente clone is responsible for 80% of the Chardonnay coming out of Cali. \nWente Vineyards specializes in Chardonnay and it is easy to see why.\nTheir wines manage to balance full tropical fruits with well-managed oak and fresh acidity the way good wine was meant to. This description also holds true for the reds. Easy drinking and meant to entice the palate and coax you into having more. But you don’t have to believe me.
