SUMMARY:Finca Hispana Wine Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Finca Hispana is a cooperative\, but unlike most\, its main priority is to glorify Spanish wines by producing high-quality wines. One would think that quality is directly related to cost\, but in this case it’s not. The wines from Finca Hispana\, at least those being tasted this weekend\, are all less than $15 per bottle but deliver as if they were $20+. How is this possible? I wish I had the answer\, but Peter Deutsch\, the man behind the brand\, does. Peter will be here this afternoon to taste through some of his wines and open our minds to the world of wonder that is Spanish wines. This is a great event to not only broaden your horizon\, if you aren’t familiar with wine from Spain\, but also to stock up on some great wines. DESCRIPTION:Wild yeast strains are all the rage these days in the beer world\, but Belgium’s Lindeman’s has been using it to create their famous line of Lambics for over 150 years.  Tart and sour by nature\, the Lindeman’s Lambics have been brewed with generous amounts of fruit to create a truly amazing flavor.  While they have a gueuze\, which is a mix of 1\, 2\, and 3 year old lambics\, it is their core line of fruit lambics that people know and love.  We will be trying their Frambroise\, Pomme\, Kriek\, Faro\, Peche\, and Cassis as well as their Lambic and Gueuze.  A great tasting\, certainly not one to miss if you have not had the chance to try them before. \n\n\n	Related

DESCRIPTION:Although they share the same river\, the Northern and Southern Rhône Valley are quite different in terms of climate\, soils\, topography\, and grape varieties. There are also significant price differences between the wines of the two areas\, with those of the North being more expensive. The Southern Rhone\, on the other hand\, is much more important in terms of quantity. Not only does the region produce more than 53 million gallons of wine annually\, its appellations — from Côtes du Rhône Villages to Gigondas and Chateauneuf du Pape are known for their quality and value. \nIndeed\, the wines of the Southern Rhône are so popular that producers in other regions\, most notably California and Australia\, have adopted its grapes and winemaking techniques. To celebrate the Southern Rhône\, Colonial Spirits will be offering a 20% discount on six or more bottles of every wine from the area this coming Saturday and Sunday. The same discount also applies to those produced by “Rhône Rangers” in California and Australia. DESCRIPTION:Not since the California Chardonnay boom of the 1990s has the wine industry experience a New World success to match the popularity of Argentine Malbecs\, the grape that put Argentina on the wine map and helped make the country the world’s fifth largest wine producer. \nWhat most wine enthusiasts don’t know\, however\, is that the Malbec grape originated in France\, either Bordeaux or Burgundy\, but it is Cahors that Malbec calls home. Cahors produces an excellent wine made from a minimum of 70% ‘Cot’\, as the grape is called locally\, but Argentina’s success has led some French producers to prominently display the word “Malbec” on their labels. \nIn any event\, customers will have the opportunity to stock up on Malbecs from both countries this coming weekend with a 20% discount on six or more bottles.
