Root 1 Plant a Tree Tasting

Root 1, a chilean winery, will pouring some of their wines on August, Saturday the 13th from 2-5pm.  Root 1 is named for the fact that the roots on their vines are original.  Many years back Europe got hit with a pest known as phyloxera; this pest eats the roots of vines leaving them completely helpless and useless.  Because of how fast the pest spread through Europe, wineries had to take extreme measures and graft New World rootstock, which is immuned to phyloxera, onto their vines so that they would not lose their vineyards.  Root 1 is a Earth friendly winery that tries to do what they can to improve the environment.  Their newest method of giving back to the environment is having plantable neck tags; you rip the tag of the bottle, plant it, and by next year flowers should bloom.  To continue their push for environmentalism Root 1 will be raffling away a tree at the tasting, that the winner can take home and plant in their garden or back yard.  So please stop by and try some great bottles of wine and enter your name for a chance to win a tree.
