Greater Good Imperial Brewing Co.

This is a first for me.  Never have I dealt with a brewery at has the label “Imperial,” but that is just what this Wolcott, CT brewery is.  Great Good Imperial Brewing Co. is America’s first all-imperial brewery.  Every beer they brew is never below 8% and they can go as high as 14%.  There is a some definite buzz surrounding them and for good reason.  We will having them here to pour their entire line up, including their 12% imperial IPA.

Guinness-St. Patrick’s Day

There is no better day to have a Guinness tasting than on St. Patrick’s Day.  And to make things even better, it’s a Friday this year.  It is as if the planets have aligned.  This is a tasting that we might not need, since Guinness is one of the most unique and widely drank beers, but one we certainly want and will enjoy.  Have a sip to remind yourself of what the world already knows and grab one of their 18 Packs that we have on sale for $21.99.   It’s not the most complex tasting we’ve had, but does it need to be?  HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY

O’Hara’s Irish Ales

In order to make sure everyone is making the most informed decision they can on Saint Patrick’s Day, we are bringing Ireland’s less known brewery in for a tasting.  O’Hara’s as been doing their thing since 1996, but while relatively new to the game compared to some of the other Irish Breweries, they make beers that stand up to anything else coming from the Emerald Isle.  We’ll be pouring out everything these guys send our way, so give them a change before reaching for something else.

Troegs

Second tasting of the month, still pouring great beers from the chocolate country brewers.  While the pride of Hershey, PA is their cocoa processing plant, Troegs is definitely second.  It’s always nice to have someone come and pour from them, but it makes it just a little bit special when we can offer up their newest and most popular seasonals.  We will be pouring Nugget Nectar for the second time, as well as some other core and limited releases.  It’s a good month when we can have a great brewery like Troegs bookend the tastings.

Down the Road

Hailing from Everett, we have been carrying Down the Road since they first started brewing beer.  Over the last few years, these guys have kept on chugging along and producing ales and lagers that have earned a good amount of buzz in this beer world of ours.  It has been a while since we have had them come in to pour their offerings so we’re gunna change that.  Mike from Down the Road will be here tasting beers like Seventh Star IPA, Pukwudgie Pale Ale, Springheel Jack London Porter, and their Cherry Feyborn Berliner Weisse.  THis is a brewery that is gathering a dedicated following and significant buzz in Massachusetts, which isn’t always easy in this market overflowing with great sudz.
